PUBS WITH PURPOSE 2025

Pubs have always been at the heart of the Community and especially the Good Friday Appeal Community.

In 1946, the very first of our collection containers was placed on the counter of the George Hotel in South Melbourne.  This idea quickly caught on.  The Tanti Hotel in Mornington was next up raising 28 pounds with their first collection.

Over 70 years later,  hundreds of pubs across Australia are still raising vital funds for the Good Friday Appeal through donations, collections, and fundraising events.

Now you can get involved in an easy way to help sick kids at The Royal Children's Hospital.

This year, we’re celebrating the incredible spirit of the Australian pub community, which has always been a strong supporter of this cause.

Pubs from all over the country are invited to create an online fundraising page which can capture all of the funds raised in one place creating a united community that uplifts and supports one another in aid of sick children and their families.

Now is the time for local communities to come together, celebrate their shared commitment, and honour those who have been touched by the care of The Royal Children’s Hospital.

When you register your Pub, make sure you name your fundraising page after your Pub so that your customers can find you and add $$ to your page.

The Boorhaman Hotel rasied $41,568 in 2024, which is an incredible amount for a community with only126 residents.  That's $329 per person.  It just goes to show that even the smallest of towns can have the biggest hearts.
