Although the 2026 Good Friday Appeal (GFA)is well under way, my begging bowl chasing funds for unwell kids is virtually empty.

Last year, Victoria raised more than $23 million overall and Torquay, where my funds go, actually raised more than $73,000. 

To those of you who tossed in some dollars, I am extremely grateful because I know just what benefits come from GFA donations.

For example, the GFA is now allocating funds to regional areas in Victoria to spread the Royal Children's excellence closer to where many children need medical support.

So far, $8.5 million has gone to 30 Health Services throughout Victoria over the past three years. What an incredible difference that has made already.

Less travel to Melbourne for kids to have treatment, better trained staff in the regions, improved equipment and far more than just that.

So, I need money in my begging bowl although I realise how tough some people are doing it at the moment.
