I‘ve created this page because I want to make a difference to the lives of sick kids.

The Good Friday Appeal relies on the support of the community to raise funds to ensure that The Royal Children's Hospital is able to continue to provide world class care to patients and their families. From 2022 to 2023 at The Royal Children's Hospital: 90,260 patients presented to the Emergency Department, 50,345 children and young people were admitted to a ward, 407,563 children and young people attended an outpatient appointment, and 14,963 patients underwent surgery. So please help by giving whatever you are able to this fundraiser and help spread the word by sharing this page with your friends, family and networks. WE HIT $9000!!! 😭😭😭

Tomorrow is Good Friday and never did i think mine and Dominics 5 minute conversation about “maybe doing a Good Friday appeal fundraiser” would ever become as big as it has. 

We started with a goal of $2500 and achieved that within a week. And, all we did was post about it on our Facebook and Instagram. We were shocked. Especially when we got a phone call from the Good Friday appeal themselves to ask us what we were doing to raise the funds so quickly.

I hesitantly thought, lets up our goal to $5000! So we did and 2 weeks later - we hit that. I thought there’s no way we will raise more than that. $5000 was the max in my head. With a cost of living crisis going on and most of the community struggling to meet the most basic of needs, we won’t get more now… 

Well how wrong I was. We upped our goal again to $7500 and I can’t believe we have gone over that! (In the time it took me to write this we have actually hit $9000 😭😭) 

I can’t begin to explain the support and love we feel from the community , from our friends and extended family, to all our Trikki Kidz families that have pitched in, strangers who have read about Benjis story and want to give back to the RCH for the amazing work they do, Violet Town community for pitching in, all my beautiful nursing sisters who have donated and Dominics colleagues who have entered the Trikki Kidz raffle or donated towards it all and all the local shops that Let me put up his poster! 

To see how loved and supported our family is in this tough time is completely overwhelming, but how lucky are we to be overwhelmed with love and not sadness. 

For those of you that have read this far - thankyou. For those that sent messages of love and support - we hear you. For those that have showed up and put effort in to make this campaign what it was especially my sister - we can’t thankyou enough. 

I’m sure sure how we will top this next year, but if you’ve got any ideas, let me know.

We are doubling our goal!

You guys have politely smashed our goal of $2500 so we have ambitiously doubled it! If this is the support we have for Benji and the Good Friday Appeal in 1 week we can only imagine how much support we will receive by the end of it. 

We are currently 13th in the leaderboard for all of Victoria with funds raised, and Cobram/Barooga is sitting at 3rd on the town leaderboard! 🥉 

Benji is absolutely stoked how well we are doing “raising money for my hospibal” 🥺 I wanted to take a pic of just Benji holding up his Thankyou sign, but he said a video would be better. So enjoy 💓🥺

YOU GUYS! 
So far we have raised over 85% of our goal in a week! This is insane. 

The amount of support and love shown by everyone over the last week has been so unexpected but our hearts are so incredibly full. 

For our Trikki Kidz family, they have some incredible fundraisers set up at the reception desk, so grab a ticket to be in the running for a beautiful Easter basket and raise money at the same tiime! 

Keep an eye out for some exciting things coming soon….!

Keep sharing around to as many people as you can. Every dollar really counts, but raising awareness for DMD is the end goal.

Benjis DMD Journey

Friday 14th Mar
Hi everyone! This year after much involvement with the RCH since discovering our little man has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy the Good Friday Appeal has become something that hits much closer to home for our little family. 

In May 2024 Benjamin was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal degenerative muscular condition. 

From May 2024 onwards we have had multiple visits with the RCH, from our specialists, our nurses, the allied health team and more! They have done so much for our family and we are very grateful. 

So what better way to show our support and allow them to keep doing the incredible things they do then to fundraise! 

If you can give anything even $1 it all counts.
