Our why.....
Skye's Royal Children's Hospital journey began when she was just two weeks old. By three weeks old, she was diagnosed with a rare liver disease, Biliary Atresia.
In her first year of life, she endured a magnitude of blood tests, liver biopsies, major surgery at three weeks old, hour-long ultrasounds and a life-saving liver transplant at 10 months of age.
Following Skye's transplant, she spent 2 weeks in ICU due to unexpected complications. The ICU team cared for her 24/7, literally. She was then transferred to the ward which became her home, and ours, for another 4 weeks.
Since discharge, Skye has been monitored closely and frequently. Blood tests and ultrasounds have become the norm for her. She is thriving, enjoying annoying her older twin siblings, and soaking up the beautiful things we often unintentially take for granted in this life.
As her 12 month post-transplant date approaches, we feel immense gratitude for the courageous donor family and incredible RCH team.
Without the support, knowledge, advocacy and expertise of the RCH nurses, consultants, medical staff, and surgeons, God knows where we'd be.
Skye's journey will be ongoing and she will be under RCH care until she is 18. We are thankful to know we have this team behind her.
No matter how small, any donation will go a long way in supporting this incredible cause and Children's hospital.
Thank you so much for your support.

You are an incredibly resilient and brave little girl, and we could all learn something from you ♡ keep shining, Skye ✨️
