“Buzz for Gum” is a student-led fundraising initiative taking place on Monday the 23rd of March supporting Laughlan Gumley, who is currently undergoing treatment for Stage Three Ewing Sarcoma. The event invites members of the Melbourne Grammar community to shave their heads in solidarity, while raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Participants will commit to a minimum fundraising target, with donations collected through an online platform shared via school channels.
The main event will take place at lunchtime, where professional barbers will safely carry out all haircuts in line with school guidelines. Alongside the head-shaving, a sausage sizzle run by parent volunteers will help raise additional funds and foster a strong sense of community.
“Buzz for Gum” aims to bring students, staff, and families together in support of a mate in need, while making a meaningful contribution to a vital cause.
