The Good Friday Appeal relies on the support of the community to raise funds to ensure that The Royal Children's Hospital is able to continue to provide world class care to patients and their families. From 2022 to 2023 at The Royal Children's Hospital: 90,260 patients presented to the Emergency Department, 50,345 children and young people were admitted to a ward, 407,563 children and young people attended an outpatient appointment, and 14,963 patients underwent surgery. 24 Hour Volley-A-Thon

Saturday 22nd Feb

The 24-Hour Volley-a-Thon: In a bid to raise even more funds and bring fresh energy to the event, this year we will dedicate one of our 8 courts exclusively to the 24-hour Volley-a-Thon. This court will feature continuous play from Thursday at 5:00 PM until Friday at 5:00 PM, with teams rotating in and out throughout the 24-hour period. Participants will challenge themselves to play volleyball non-stop, while also encouraging donations and sponsorships for each hour of play. The event will highlight the spirit of endurance, team collaboration, and community support, with players, supporters, and volunteers working together to keep the action going through the night and into the next day.

Maroondah Volleyball has proudly hosted an annual Good Friday Appeal Volleyball Tournament for the past 4 years, with each event growing in size and impact. Over the years, we have raised an impressive total of $43,765.29 for the Good Friday Appeal, supporting the vital work of the Royal Children's Hospital. This long-standing tradition has become a highlight in our local community, drawing participants, spectators, and businesses together to contribute to a noble cause while enjoying the sport of volleyball.

For our fifth year, we are excited to introduce a new and unique addition to our tournament—the 24-hour Volley-a-Thon. This exciting event will run alongside our regular volleyball tournament on Good Friday, combining traditional volleyball matches with a thrilling non-stop 24-hour play event.
