I've created this page because I want to make a difference in the lives of sick and/or injured children...
We experienced the care that the RCH provides to children with Marlie in 2018. Unfortunately after birth, Marlie contracted RSV. We had been to our GP that morning and were referred to our local hospital for a Paediatrician review. Upon presenting at our local hospital, Marlie crashed in the triage room and was required to be resuscitated and placed on a ventilator etc. She wasn't stabilising well for the hospital, so they consulted with RCH PIPER team and a decision was made to transfer Marlie to RCH Butterfly (NICU) ward. The care that they gave Marlie was phenomenal and they made the hospital environment feel as comfortable and as welcoming as they could during the stay. Marlie spent two weeks in total in the care of RCH, and still has ongoing appointments. Quite simply, without the RCH, we wouldn't have Marlie.
