A lot of people know our story, but for those who don’t:
Late in pregnancy, Henry was diagnosed with Duodenal Atresia. After a scan on April 2nd 2025, we were advised to relocate to Melbourne for his care.
Henry was born at the Mercy Hospital on April 10th, transferred to the Royal Children’s Hospital in the early hours of April 11th, and underwent surgery on April 12th. We were lucky to only have spent a short amount of time at RCH before Henry was discharged and transferred back to Wodonga’s Special Care Nursery on April 29th. We returned home as a family with Henry on the 10th of May.
Part of our time at RCH also included being there for the Good Friday Appeal last year, and seeing the joy and hope days like this bring to children and families in such tough times has made this cause even more special to us.
Since then, we’ve had other minor appointments at RCH, and a few more ahead. But every visit reminds us how fortunate we are to have access to such world-class care. Seeing the sick children, the families, the state-of-the-art equipment, and the dedication of the nurses, doctors, and staff is exactly what we’re raising money for. So that the Royal Children’s Hospital can continue providing exceptional care, and research, for all children who need it.
Mark and I are taking on 24 hours on an exercise bike to give back, say thank you, and support the Royal Children’s Hospital, helping ensure other children, and their families, get the care they need.
For anyone who wants to join us on the ride, we’ll have another bike available—so come and ride alongside us if you’d like!
Every donation, big or small, goes to the Good Friday Appeal to make a real difference for kids and families who need it most.
