Victoria Racing Club Supporting the Good Friday Appeal

The Good Friday Appeal has a long association with the Victoria Racing Club and Flemington Racecourse.

In 1931, upon hearing the Children’s Hospital was at risk of closure a group of journalists held a sports carnival to raise money for sick children. A football match involving jockeys from Flemington and Caulfield played in front of a crowd of 20,000 spectators raised 427 pounds. This started a legacy of giving and it set in motion a force for good that has never stopped.

The Good Friday Appeal is Victoria’s largest charity and the Victoria Racing Club is delighted to be partnering with them in an official capacity to help assist The Royal Children’s Hospital deliver the highest quality, evidence-based paediatric health care.
