Elisabeth Murdoch College iCAN Challenge 2025

I‘ve created this page because I want to make a difference to the lives of sick kids In the royal Melbourne hospital so that they can live a better life.

I'm participating in the iCAN Challenge 2025!

On Tuesday the 1st of April, Elisabeth Murdoch College, Langwarrin Primary School, Woodlands Primary School, Langwarrin Park Primary School and Pearcedale Primary School will be holding an amazing school community event with participants walking 50km in one day from St Kilda to Frankston. The walk will be along the beach the entire way and we will finish with the last few steps across the finish line celebrated by family, friends and the school community. To participate each individual has the goal of raising $500 for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. As a community we are hoping to raise $200,000.

The Good Friday Appeal relies on the support of the community to raise funds to ensure that The Royal Children's Hospital is able to continue to provide world class care to patients and their families. In 2023, The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) continued to provide world class care for sick kids and their families. In that time, over 90,000 patients presented to the emergency department, nearly 15,000 surgeries were performed, over 50,000 children were admitted to the wards, with nearly 530,000 outpatient or telehealth appointments made. The RCH is committed helping kids live their best possible lives and reach their potential. So please help by giving whatever you are able to this fundraiser and help spread the word by sharing this page with your friends, family and networks.

My Updates

1 month to Ican

Saturday 1st Mar
On the 1st of march I walked with the other schools along the frankston foreshore until a bit past Bonbeach train station (roughly 10km) and back, from 8am in the morning. The other primary schools left us at Keas Park when we kept going. It was a perfect day the sandy paths were a struggle but I jumped into the water at the end to cool down. It was good practice and I'm glad I pulled through, feeling good, can't wait for ican in 1 month.

ican training

Saturday 1st Mar
Apart from the weekly training on Wednesday and Thursdays my School went with the other schools on a 15km walk on the 15th of Feb up the Peninsula Link. It was gruelling to start with because of the cold and hills but I was getting better as I went it rained on us a lot and we were spread out pretty far. I was in the middle to front for the most part, it was a good experience and I'm pumped for the 50km on the 1st of April even though I've already walked away from that training with a few blisters. I looked forward to the 20km practise in 2 weeks.
