I've created this page because I want to make a difference.
12 October 2020 was going to be the best day of our lives, the day our little boy was born. We were expecting to have a healthy baby and get to take him home and show him off to our family. But it didn’t end like that.
8:40pm Quinn Oliver Cochrane was born, but something wasn’t right. Quinn was born with a rare birth defect called Gastroschisis, meaning when he was developing his belly didn’t close up at his belly button and he had a three centimetre hole where his large and small intestines had come out. We should have known about it prior to his birth, but it wasn’t picked up on his scans.
Quinn was transported straight to the Royal Children’s Hospital where he had his first surgery at just 12 hours old, on the ward. Over the next four weeks the care and medical attention Quinn received, as well as the care Brodie & I received was absolutely phenomenal.
Without fundraisers like the Good Friday Appeal, the hospital wouldn’t have the staff and equipment that they do. It is so important to raise this money for sick kids and their families.
This Easter, we’d love for our family and friends and give a little, or give a lot because there are so many families who need it.
I'm inspired by the work of The Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in the 2021 Good Friday Appeal.
The Appeal relies on the support of the community to raise funds to ensure the The Royal Children's Hospital is able to continue to provide world class care to patients and their families. The hospital treats over 50,000 children in the wards and medical centre, and 90,000 in Emergency each year. So please, help me help them, by giving whatever you are able to my fundraiser.
The more people that know about the Good Friday Appeal, the greater their impact, so please help me spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
