Eva’s story
Friday 29th MarEva was born in December 2014 with a congenital heart condition - coarctation of the aorta. She was transferred straight after birth to the Royal Children's Hospital where she under went emergency open heart surgery just 24 hours later.
She spent a week in the Rosella cardiac intensive care unit before she was transferred to the Koala ward where she spent another few weeks receiving expert care and treatment before we took her home.
Her recovery continued at home with the support of the RCH cardiologists, speech therapists and home-visit nurses.
The RCH is an incredibly special place, and it is all thanks to it and the amazing care of the surgeons, doctors and nurses that we have Eva to love and cherish today.
